After the cataclysm of 2027, survivors were gradually dispersed along the route to the interior, mostly in temporary settlements that left no archaeological trace. Evidence from a newly discovered city of refuge ‘Eustase’, suggest that humans preserved a high level of civilization reflected in extraordinary fashion achievements.  This suggests that for a time humanity was not destroyed by the disaster, but chose to actively survive.
