Ticket for the Survival Lottery

Rendlesham, Suffolk

c. 0001981 CE

This is your future broken world, where resources are insufficient to meet everyone's basic needs. Everyone is entered into a periodic lottery, the winners of which receive sufficient resources to survive, the losers are left with nothing and do not survive. Everyone has an equal chance in the lottery to survive, but not everyone can.

"My Granma has bought a lottery ticket every week for thirty years and never won anything. The idea of her having to enter an all or nothing survival lottery is truly disturbing, and also  really terrifying about how we live now. It is the unthinkableness of a survival lottery that is the very reason why it needs to be confronted".
