Bird’s nest (flavor level five)

Kunashir Island, Caldera of Golovnin, shores of crater Lake Kipyashchee

0004023 CE

Delicious food found at our favorite lakes: Extremophiles at their host lake love organic matter, Sulfur bacterium Thiobacillus thiooxidans, regard this bird’s nest as mildly flavorsome, rated five in the 1-10 scale of tastiness. It has notes reminiscent of dreams of free running streams and ice cool creek beds, most piquant in midday sun. This much sought after medium-sized nest provides a welcome refuge for many more generations of hungry bacteria.
