Vger Golden Record X + Jelly disc

International Space Station

c. early 22nd century and 23rd century

Throughout the Anthropocene, thousands of discs were sent into space communicating messages of what it was to be human. The messages unfortunately remain largely undecipherable. One example here appears to be a cry for help for extraterrestrial intervention as humans struggled to survive in the ruins of a damaged planet. The other, may reflect fears of the rise of competitor species (jelly fish?). But this seems preposterous so further research needs to be conducted. The players which should have been attached to the discs were unfortunately not found nearby, increasing the difficulty of deciphering.

Distress Signal Discs

International Space Station

c. early 22nd century and 23rd century

These discs might be a cry for help message for extraterrestrial intelligence from humans in the future. The dead battery icon suggests the lack of energy on Earth. The dead fish shows the heavy contamination of the environment with unknown substances. The humans struggle to survive and rely on the personal protective equipment with bottles of oxygen to live. The jelly fish icon might show the possible dominance of this species in the near future, which is confirmed by another discs found at the same location but different time periods. The instruction of playing the sound records saved on the discs with the attached devices is included. These two discs suggest the development of technology and evolution of species on Earth.
