Manticore Ancestral Shrine

unknown location

c. early Misanthropcene

A hand-built clay shrine used for ancestor-worship by nomadic pilgrims. The shrine houses an ancient Manticore image and is built and decorated with found-objects and materials. The shrine is compact so it can be carried for personal worship within nomadic lion/human hybrid clans as they travel seeking shelter, water and food or prey.

Manticore Shrine of Lion-Human Worship

unknown location

c. early Misanthropcene

This object is made by an individual or group that appear to attach cultural or religious significance to the image of a powerful animal with human features similar to the mythical 'Manticore'. Some academics believe it likely that offerings delivered to this image would be made in the hope of preventing family-members becoming human sacrifices to this lion-man hybrid figure. The construction includes some materials that appear to be made from prototype plastics and electronic components, further study is needed to determine the origin and purpose of these items and their significance to the creators of the object.

Manticore Shrine

unknown location

c. early Misanthropcene

A holy reliquary house made in reverence to our founding creator Manticore [all hail!] dating from the Beginning Times, this venerable shrine houses a most significant icon from our origin-stories. Early clans roaming the wastelands of Northern and Middle Capitalismus transported these shrines to pay homage and make offerings for favours granted and lands conquered through battle with the feral human remnants.
