Whale for an Ear

Legend suggests that whales were once large sea monsters. As these body parts show, whales became smaller creatures that infested domestic plumbing and sewer outlets. Their size gradually reduced along with the oceans, which were covered over with the expansion of coastal cities. Their songs continue to be heard in our water pipes as ghostly laments that resonate with the immensity of their original bodies.

Ancient legend suggests that ‘whales’ were large sea monsters, however this contradicts archival evidence, which has now disproved these myths. We now understand this was a classic ‘project fear’ strategy to prevent simple people from fully exploiting the ocean’s resources. The body parts of a whale presented here suggest they were much smaller sea creatures that infested domestic plumbing pipes and sewer outlets.
