Not-fossilised remains of a small votive figure

Expert IMoB Curatorial research suggested that the figure once formed part of a religious reliquary (gungervaa) used in rituals at the time in Inner Mongolian.

It was common to detach heads from desecrated votive figures to deactivate their spiritual power.

Not-fossilised remains of a small votive figure

Accessioned into the IMoB paleoetechnology collections in 0002021 CE.

Mid Anthropocene not-fossil beds surrounding the Muskva River in the former Russia.

Previously, an antiquarian fossil trafficker had linked the object with geological strata in the former Germany.

This appears to have been a tactic of this archaic unregulated illicit trade to avoid taxes

Damaged fragments have been expertly conserved by conservationist technicians at the IMoB .
