Fossil of extinct mushrooms

South Downs Wetlands, West Sussex

These fossils contain an ancient form of fungilife that exhibit characteristic square edges, and are commonly found among the ancient ruins of human-made square enclosures.

This suggests that this distant ancestor coevolved with sentient humans in these ancient environments. A frightening world where our fungi ancestors were food for humans, not the other way around.

early-Anthropocene

A human artist's interpretation of the objects contained in the fossilised fungi, based on the square edges and the  association with square human enclosures.

Archaic human archives indicate that this fossil may contain human fabricated book forms that were once housed in contemporary human libraries
