After World War Terminus, many animals became extinct which meant owning a pet became a highly-sought status symbol. To satisfy demand from humans with strong vanity, artificial electronic animals were invented and manufactured to look real. The repair on this animal’s leg shows its value for the human owner; unusually, rather than discarding the broken animal, it was cared for.
